About

About the Lake County Chapter

A local home for the communications professionals of Lake County, and part of one of the oldest public relations associations in the country.

Our purpose

What the chapter is for

“The Florida Public Relations Association is dedicated to developing public relations practitioners who, through ethical and standardized practices, enhance the public relations profession in Florida.”

— Mission of the Florida Public Relations Association

The Lake County Chapter exists to make professional growth practical for communicators who work in and around Lake County. Statewide conferences matter, but so does a room of people who understand your market, your reporters, and your commission meetings.

We bring members together on a regular schedule for programming that is useful the next morning: sessions on the craft, candid conversation about what is working, and the kind of relationships that turn into referrals, advice, and hires.

As an FPRA chapter, we hold our members to the association's professional standards and connect them to the credentialing, recognition, and resources of the statewide organization.

Programming

What we do

Four things the chapter commits to every year.

01

Monthly programs

Speakers and working sessions on the craft — media relations, crisis communications, measurement, writing, and the tools changing all of them.

02

Professional development

Support for members pursuing Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) and access to the full statewide slate of workshops and webinars.

03

Recognition

Encouragement and coaching for members entering the Golden Image Awards, FPRA’s statewide competition for outstanding PR work.

04

Community service

Volunteer communications support for local nonprofits and civic organizations that need professional counsel they could not otherwise buy.
